TELESCOPIC SPACE-OUT JOINTS

Novomet telescopic space-out joints compensate for vertical movement of the completion tubing during treatment, injection, or geothermal fluctuations. The joints have a shear to help ensure precise spacing, and expand to adjust to tubing contraction movement as a result of pressure and temperature changes. Shipped closed, the telescopic joint is extended to the fully open position and the shear is pinned into place. The system stays elongated until the lower end lands in the packer or the tie-back receptacle. The pins then shear out and collapse, leaving the required spacing. Joint lengths can be tailored for completion to most downhole conditions.
